Steven Seagal: Lawman [16 May 2012|10:54pm]

scarbie

I wonder if Steven Seagal is going to bring out a third season of Steven Seagal: Lawman.  I knew the show would be entertaining but I was surprised how good and compelling it is.  The other cops he works with are great!  Here's hoping that there will eventually be a third season.

What did you all think of the Lawman show?

How amazing was Steven Seagal in Machete!? At first I was disappointed that he wasn't in The Expendables but he was awesome in Machete! How did you all feel about it?

It premieres this Wednesday! I wish I had cable because this show combines two things that I love: Steven Seagal and COPS.

7:50 PM 9/22/09 · I don't know the when exactly, though I suspect its in the middle of the holiday season, but Steven Seagal will be starring in a reality show on A&E called Lawmen. Basic premise is that he'll be doing ride a longs with actual policemen as they go busting heads and taking down bad guys...

...so to speak.

Steven Seagal made a vampire flic? [06 Apr 2009|12:18pm]

11:04 AM 4/4/09 · There was a time whenever I came across a Steven Seagal mention I got riveted...but that was a long time ago. Though it wasn't really until a couple years back I got a bit more skittish when his name came up and it largely is due to bad dubbing.

With age the man doesn't move the way he used to but that was actually a welcome improvement. His old way of 1 or 2 hits and then he killed whoever he fought was fast and efficient but overall, kinda disappointing. Really took away from any sense of realism. Now older when he fights someone it takes a bit more effort which I like...

...but the dubbing's been a problem.

They keep replacing his voice with this shakier one that has a horrible Texas accent. Fairly consistantly too, after the 2nd film I found like this I kinda gave up. Then I saw Against the Dark on the shelf, Seagal flanked by two obvious vampires, and I figured I'd take the chance.

Right off, he sounded just like he's supposed to and I was pleased by that. Got a little confused when I went through the credits though because it attributes his voice to one Alin Olteanu.

Beginning to think think the man has the world's worst case of laryngitis.

Even though I don't think this movie is worth I'm still going to go off on it for a bit...and maybe this will help convince you never to go where I unfortunately didCollapse )

Don't bother renting Against the Dark. If you happen to see it at your local rental place, burn it down. It will be worth the consequences.

The only redeeming quality this film has is it was filmed in Bucharest, Romania.

My mom told me that a Steven Seagal movie was on the ION station and I saw about 2 seconds of it and knew that it was Above the Law. I don't know if I should be proud of that. It's a shame that I missed the first hour of the movie. It's a good one.

Has anyone seen this movie yet? Please tell me what you thought of it. I still have not seen it but the title makes me think that it is going to be really great. It's been in the back of my mind to pick this up but I keep forgetting. bookworm_2005's introduction post made me remember it. I just can't imagine a movie called Pistol Whipped being bad.

I'm new to the comm, but have always been a fan of Steven Seagal - I especially like Undersiege & Undersiege 2.
Does anyone know where I can find fan-fiction based on his various roles? Slash would be nice, but any type will do.

So many movies so little time! [30 Oct 2007|12:20am]

I went to Blockbuster and Hollywood Video yesterday to see what previewed movies they had on sale. I bought four Steven Seagal movies for $20. Didn't watch any of them this weekend but I'm having a hard time deciding which one I should watch first.

Here are the blurbs from the back of the boxes of each movie.Collapse )

Okay, so I have two movies where he has ties to the CIA, one where he is a mercenary, and one with him being in the air force. It's hard to keep up with which movie is which because three of them involve prison breaks. Fortunately there's only one where his character's name is borderline ridiculous. Johnathan Cold?

Based on the blurbs which movie do you think I should watch first? Or if you've seen any of these movies would you recommend it?

Steven Seagal has beef with the FBI [20 Aug 2007|09:56pm]

This morning I was so shocked to hear Steven Seagal's name in the news. He is planning on suing the FBI basically saying the Feds tarnished his reputation with false accusations. Here's a link to an article on USA today regarding the matter:

2:37 PM 12/31/06 · From way back as far as Above the Law, which I believe was his first film, I've been a fan of Steven Seagal films. It was margianlly frustrating how early on there seemed to be no fighting challenges to the characters he played, you can only see him hit a guy once or twice before they go down so many times, and I'd've liked to see him play a villain at least once but other than that...the guy rocks!

I picked up his latest release from Blockbuster and brought it home, along with two other rentals, and popped it in first the next morning. To say I was annoyed with this film in a lot of ways is an understatement. I almost stopped watching it 3 times and even though I weathered my way through it...very difficult it was to not fast forward through some of the really tedious parts.

We're up to 10 members now! I know the fandom is small but it's nice to know that others get a kick out of Seagal movies.  Here's hoping that one day I'll be able to announce that we have 100 members.

A little while ago I tweaked the layout for the comm but forgot to make an announcement. I hope you like the new look. Also if any of you are good at making LJ layouts, if you ever have a good idea for a layout for the community let me know and I'll make icons or something for you in exchange.

I finally saw Fire Down Below and wow, that was an entertaining movie!! The dialogue is just awesome and you care about many of the characters. I definitely recommend people see that movie if they haven't already. I also saw Out for a Kill and that one wasn't so good but people can't make classics all the time.

Are there any Seagal movies that you think people HAVE to see? Are there Seagal movies that you think are awful?

This is just one reason why Seagal will always be cooler than Van Damme in my book.Collapse )

The closest Seagal came to busting a move that I know of was in Hard to Kill when he was bobbing his head to the smooth jazz playing on the radio.

Hehehe, on to more interesting things... while I was looking up info for Versus 2, I found out that Steven Seagal's son, Kentaro Seagal will be making his action movie debut in a movie called Death Trance. From the trailers it looks like it will be action packed. I just hope the story makes some sense.

What was the first Steven Seagal film you saw? Is it one of your favorite Seagal films? I thought of those questions as I responded to another post.

My first Seagal film was Hard to Kill. That's probably why it is one of my favorites and why I chose that to be the name of the comm.

Steven Seagal Update - Today You Die (Part 1) [30 Aug 2005|01:03pm]

Hello. I just found the community today so I thought I would add to it. I occasionally make a Steven Seagal update in my LJ. Since I found this community I figure I'll cross post it here too. Enjoy!

I have not posted a Steven Seagal update since June so I think one is over due. First, he has a new, direct to video, movie coming out on September 13 – Today You Die. The synopsis is: A former thief who is trying to go straight seeks vengeance on those who framed him.

The trailer can be viewed here. Please note that I had issues with the trailer site in FireFox and had to use Internet Explorer to watch it.
